How To Pick A Good Skydiving Program 

Picking a good skydiving program can be intimidating because you likely don’t know much about jumping out of airplanes … but going skydiving is not a decision that should be taken lightly. Do your research!

1. Check out reviews! When investigating reviews, don’t get caught up by looking at all those 5 stars – look for consistency. Think of it this way: do you want to invest in a fancy restaurant that has stellar reviews on Saturday and Sunday, but less-than-exceptional reviews on Monday? Nope. Make sure the dropzone you’re checking out has good reviews, all the time. 

1. Are they a USPA Group Member? The United States Parachute Association (USPA) is our country’s governing body for the sport of skydiving and is an organization that is respected by the international skydiving community. The USPA has a list of rules – called BSRs, or Basic Safety Requirements – that Group Member dropzones are required to abide by. Of course, non-group Members could follow them, too, but there’s no one making sure they are. Ya catch our drift? For that extra layer of assurance, look for USPA Group Member dropzones. 

1. Feel the vibes! Have questions about booking your skydive, or about skydiving in general? Contact the skydiving center and pay attention to their level of attention and customer service – are they friendly and helpful, or rude and dismissive? Make sure you’re booking your jump at a skydiving dropzone that makes you feel comfortable!
